Information Security Policies
TRSNYC recognizes the importance of maintaining the privacy of our members. Therefore, we take comprehensive and proactive steps to guarantee that personal information is secure.
- Highly confidential information, including Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and Personal Health Information (PHI), must be protected at all times. Examples of PII and PHI include, but are not limited to, Social Security/Tax ID numbers and disability records. Highly confidential data sent across any network connection must be encrypted in accordance with the latest industry standards for encryption.
-
All computers, laptops, and other computing devices connected to TRSNYC networks should have the following:
- TRSNYC-approved anti-virus software
- Latest operating system security-patch updates
- Remote access should be implemented through two-factor authentication. Strong passwords, as per industry standards, should be used.
- Charter School representatives accessing the Charter School Interface Facility (CIF) or the TRSNYC Partner Portal must protect and secure their user ID and password from unauthorized use and disclosure, and may not share their TRSNYC network user ID or password with others.
- Charter School employers are responsible for the secure remote access to TRSNYC networks by vendors, third parties, and affiliates.
