9) When must a member's death occur in order to qualify for the accidental death benefit?

The law establishing the COVID-19 accidental death benefit stated that the member's death must occur on or before December 31, 2020. However, as a result of subsequent legislation, members who die on or before December 31, 2024 and are otherwise eligible will also qualify. This is subject to further modification by the Governor and/or State Legislature.
